October 8, 2000 - Sunday
It wasn't a certainty that it would work out this weekend, but today Harry met his new cousin, Ben. After a couple of solitary days alone at home, Ben's parents were ready to get out of the house and introduce Ben to the gathered crowd at the cabin. It's, of course, tenuous to interpret what, if anything, Harry got from this first meeting beyond yet more curiosity of the world around him, but it made for a charming photo opportunity nonetheless.

Harry was never as small as Ben is, having been born a full pound heavier, but it's still eye opening to see the relative amount Harry has grown since his swaddling days. Harry is more than twice Ben's weight and looks huge next to his infant cousin. While his mother and I have both revisited Harry's early pictures, it takes seeing another newborn baby to really recall what it was like to hold Harry when he was so young.
