July 3, 2006 - Monday
The boys have taken to drawing on empty cardboard boxes from stores. That's fine, but the ultimately take up more room than paper. Their mother and I got a good laugh today when I realized she, in the interested of tidying the house for our upcoming trip, moved one of the more intricate box drawings to the garage.
"You better make sure Jeremy doesn't see that or there'll be hell to pay."
It was a joke, but not a frivolous one. Jeremy is a little artist and his drawings are really quite important to him. I can't say how many times we've been walking out of the Moppet School and Jeremy's said, "but what about my picture?"
Sometimes I'll say, "I have it right here," and, even more irately, he'll exhort, "there were TWO pictures."
Sometimes, when we are not in a rush, and I'm feeling more patient, we'll go back inside and look. Otherwise, since we often don't find them anyway for one reason or another, I'll say that we'll just have to get it tomorrow.

Since I usually pick Jeremy up, Mommy hasn't had that specific experience so many times, but she's definitely seen Jeremy become distraught over a picture. Jeremy's even made us go back into restaurants for his colored place matsthat we've left behind. He's even asked about pictures that are weeks old.
