A week or so ago I took Harry for an amusement park style
ride around our bedroom in an empty plastic clothesbasket . He loved it! In
fact, he continues to loves it so much that it's become a minor problem when
the ride stops. That's trouble, because bending over and dragging a 20+ pound
boy around the floor in a clothesbasket is tiring and I'l have inevitably
had enough long before Harry has. As he sits there pouting or whining for
more, I rationalize that learning he can't always get his way is an important
lesson that he might as wll have sooner rather than later. I suppose at some
point in the future I'll just end up hiding the clothesbasket so he never
gets the idea of the "ride," but we're a long way from that point.
For now, I'm a complete sucker for another turn about the room if it makes
him so happy. I need the exercise anyway.
