Dec. 24, 1999 - Friday (Christmas Eve)
Harry had his first bath today. After a week of life, and in preparation for seeing his relatives on Christmas, we thought his hair might be ready for a wash. Just a couple hours after his birth, one of the nurses washed him to remove the residues of the womb and birth. Harry cried when she lathered him but quickly quieted as soon as she put him in the water. Our experience wasn't quite as blissful, though not bad at all. He nervously whined when his body first touched the water. Thinking it must be too cold, we started again with warmer water, but he still whined. But nervousness was probably all it was because our charming little boy settled right in after just a few seconds.
