    I'm several hundred miles away
from Harry today, but I did spend some time yesterday and today with a good
friend and her two children, one of whom is just a month younger than Harry.
She's a little smaller and weighs a little less than Harry. I know that because
I carried her about on a couple of occasions and while there's nothing earthshaking
about that minor feat, it does occur to me how little desire I would have
had to do that just a few years ago. Now, I'm a practiced father with a back
that's often sore, a body that has consumed more coffee in the last month
than at any point in my life, and a solid technique for handling one year-olds.
    And, I like it.
