 September 2, 2000 - Saturday
    Today was Harry's mother's
birthday and we went out to dinner: not the three of us, but the two of us.
Harry's mother and I haven't been out to dinner alone since our evening at
the bed & breakfast and that's the only other time since Harry's birth.
Harry's Aunt and Uncle came up to the house for watch him while we were out
and stayed for a DVD video after he had gone to bed. Harry still had his normal
routine, just dinner and a bath from someone else. Reports from the evening
suggested Harry didn't react much differently than usual. And, his mother
and I had a very nice, somewhat French dinner.

For her birthday, Harry helped pick out a new apron
for our country kitchen. Actually, he grabbed several in the store and I made
the final choice, but Harry was right there testing the material for future
    tugging.
