This afternoon in the car on the ride home from daycare, Harry was
repeating words from the news on the car radio. And, it wasn't as if he'd
say a word every now and then: at the end of virtually every phrase for a
good minute or so, Harry repeated words or a short phrases from the broadcast.
I sat there in the front seat almost feeling Harry's brain sucking in information
as fast as possible: Harry is at the sponge age. A short time later, after
we got out of the car, Harry rattled off a five word, two syllable each, rhyming
sequence that I only remember ended "togo, oh no," with "oh no" in a much
different and exaggerated tone than the other words.
Also today, Harry also brought home a zip-lock baggy full of rocks. Apparently
he has been collecting them for the last few days outside his daycare and
today reputedly told his provider that he was going to bring them home. Harry
may be advanced when it comes to words, but he likes rocks,
too. He's a regular boy and I'm sincerely just as pleased about that.
