There's an annual block party of sorts up the street
from us. We don't really live in the actual neighborhood development, but
the Realtor who sold us our house does and invited us both last year and today.
Last year, Harry was barely on
his feet, cruising but not walking, and was much easier to control. This time,
he was running freely about the yard. There were a number of other children
there, though most were a few years older and watching them all run around
together, effectively letting their parents enjoy themselves, begged the question
why we opted against a little cul-de-sac neighborhood for Harry. But, it's
not really our style. There were a few younger children
there, including this 2.5 year old girl from the neighborhood. At her age,
having clearly made the transition from playing beside to playing with, she
was quite happy to have a new friend. Harry must be on the cusp of that, because
he spent quite a while running up and down this little ramp and looking at
the stones with her.
