"What do I do with him? It seems like I could be yelling at him all day
long."
"Yeah, sometimes it does seem that way."
"Well, at least it's not just me."
That little dialogue, or something pretty close to it was between Harry's
mother and me today. It doesn't particularly matter who was who. Infact, I'm
going to bet that it could be any one of millions of parents of young children.
There is so much to know, so much to teach, so much harm in their way, so
much possible harm to our house, so much unsavory behavior, and they're just
being kids. We try to strike a balance, as every parent possibly thinks they
are trying to doing, and we always always tell them we love them at the end
of the day. But some days are longer than others and even the short ones can
seem long if the parents are constantly saying "don't do that."
