Last night at the fireworks vendors were selling a typical array of "glow-up" items, including for the first time I've seen, glow-up pacifiers. The boys always what to buy stuff, particularly "glowup" stuff and we, thinking they're rather still and frivolous, said, "no." But at the end of the fireworks as we were walking off the field, Harry saw one of those pacifiers on the ground and picked up and, ugh, put it in his mouth. Today he was sick to his stomach. And while that is never a pleasant thing, I guess I have to concede that there is a significant assuagement in the direct cause and effect lesson we tried to teach him last evening about the dangers of putting random things in his mouth.
