 March 21, 2000 - Tuesday

Harry's grandfather, who has been helping with baby-sitting on Tuesday, concurred
with what Harry's mother and I have been noticing for the last couple of weeks.
Harry is becoming a more vocal baby and, unfortunately, a whiny baby. Naturally,
our heads are a buzz with theories for this new behavior. Harry's mother likes
to suggest that he, having seen the good life, is now disappointed that we
don't live at the Ritz. Other rationales include
his possible teething, not enough milk, his sleep schedule, his greater awareness,
and just becoming an older baby.

For the last week at least, Harry has been sleeping
very solidly in the evenings to the point that he can almost sleep through
a diaper change when we go to bed ourselves. When he does wake up from his
deep sleep, however, he can't be very happy about it and may not be sleeping
well after that. Harry's mother noted that he sleep very well yesterday afternoon
and was his old jovial self after that. Unfortunately, his three-hour nap
did not assist the sleep process last night.
