Today when I was picking up Harry and putting him in the car, another boy
from Harry's class walked by our car with his father and yelled "it's
Harry." Given all the attention I've notice Harry receiving from
the other kids, that many seem to want to play with him, I asked Harry, "are
you the most popular kid in your class."
"Yeah," was all he said, as matter-of-factly as possible. Or, maybe
it was with the weight of popularity on his shoulders. Or, maybe he was ecstatic
about it and just playing his usual coy. Or, maybe he didn't understand what
I was asking. Each of those is equally possible and I really don't know which
is right, although I guess I'd lean toward the second, but with more consideration
than "ecstatic."
