I guess it's been about a week since Jeremy started sitting with us at the table. I'd been thinking about it after noting that Harry started sitting at the table at about the same point in his life. Remembering how excited Harry was about his new maturity and entitlement, I've been a little surprised that Jeremy hasn't been equally obvious in his delight. When asked, he will say that he wants to be at the table, but it just doesn't seem like as big a deal to him. On the other hand, it does feel like something of a big deal to me as I sit there overseeing two little boys as the father of the table. Somehow it makes me feel older, or at least it makes me feel like my own father.
