September 29, 2003 - Monday
Driving through town this afternoon, we went over the bridge on Main St. that
we have driven over countless times and Harry said, "this is where the
army trucks were." The only possible thing Harry could have been referring
to, at least the only thing that makes any sense to me, is when we watched
the Memorial Day parade from the spot on the bridge where he said this. Interestingly,
it was a similarly gray day as today and the parade included a unit of soldiers
in camouflage fatigues and a couple of camouflage vehicles. I don't remember
exactly whether they were hummers or personnel carriers, but they clearly
"went with" the marching soldiers. But the thing about this is that
we missed the Memorial Day parade this year. Harry was remembering the parade
from a year and a half ago, when he was less than two and a half.
