"Goof ball" is a term I have been using for quite some time with
the boys. I always say it in a somewhat sarcastic manner and usually when
one of the boys has been doing something very silly. But, every now and then
I use it in a little more direct way when the silliness has turned the corner.
From their reactions and their emphatic "no" on these occasions
when I ask "are you being a GOOF BALL," I'm hoping they understand,
at least on some level, that silliness has its limits.
