Over the last month, Jeremy has had a surprisingly hard time with accidents during the night and it has caused us to put him in pull-ups for the majority of nights this month. Awkwardly, we've actually gone back and forth several times during that time, putting him in a pull-up after a night or two of accidents, then going back to underpants when his pull-ups are dry, which has almost always been the case. I don't think I would go so far as to say that he is having accidents on purpose, but there have been a few annoying hints to that effect. Most disturbingly, last night he started grinning ear to ear standing there watching his mother and me change his bedding in the middle of the night.
On the positive side of things, Jeremy has started to do a very good job at breakfast, sometimes even finishing before Harry, and that almost never happens.
Likely related, Harry has been hoping up from the breakfast and dinner table lately to "help" with various things, like getting the bottle for his and Jeremy's vitamins when he's finished his cereal. I suspect that part of this behavior is a result of kids not wanting to sit still, but in just about every case there is some element of helpfulness in it. Admittedly, some of this activities are less appropriate at meal time, like going to get a toy from the living room that might have come up in conversation, but I choose to focus on the helpful part. After all, his mother and I are constantly jumping up from the table to get things from the kitchen, refill drinks, etc. and it's no surprise that Harry would wish to try it too. If we can support that initiative through the next 15 years, that would be great. And, if being the one to jump up and get the bottle of vitamins in what makes Jeremy eat at a more appropriate pace, it's brilliant as far as I'm concerned.
