Yesterday afternoon while I was picking Harry up from school and collecting his things from the breezeway, one of the girls in his class, Lauren, was also collecting her things with her mother. Actually, her mother was collecting her things and see was being a little silly. Very overtly, she came over to Harry and hugged him, blurting out "I love you." It was all kind of cute little girl stuff and, typical little boy stuff, Harry did not look all too comfortable with it. So I asked him about it this morning at breakfast, whether Lauren did that often and whether she did it to all the boys. Harry said it was just him. I asked whether he liked it. He said "no." I asked if he was embarrassed by it. He said "no," and that he just didn't like it. I asked Miss Maria about it when we got to school, whether there was some little schoolgirl crush thing going on, and she said, "no," and that Lauren's just like that. It's not just Harry.
Sometimes he's just so unreliable as a witness.
