Tonight at bedtime, after another silly dinner episode of Jeremy not wanting to finish a couple of pieces of zucchini and sitting at the table far too long, he started to list for his mother all the foods he liked. She tells me the list was unprovoked and that he just came out and said something like "Mommy, I like pancakes, macaroni & cheese, carrots, chocolate..." and he went on to list many things, mostly things with a lot of sugar in them. Interestingly, she says there were no negatives, no foods that he doesn't like, just a list of good things as if to say, 'if you want me to eat dinner then you better make these things.' Might work if there were more healthy things on the list, but it was still a fascinating way for a three-year-old to approach a problem.
