July 2, 2005 - Saturday
We started our big car trip this afternoon after we watched the local Independence Day parade. We'll eventually travel to Washington DC and stay a couple of nights with some friends, Greg and Jessica, and to Pittsburgh to see Grandpa John and Grandma Judy. That's a lot of driving for two little boys, but we don't plan to do more than about three hours a day, stopping to camp along way. The exception was today. Since we hope to be in Washington tomorrow, we pushed on for more than five hours, eventually setting up tent at a KOA campground outside Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. We would have stopped earlier if we needed to - that is, if the boys got too stir crazy - but we didn't need to. They each feel asleep for a little while, then we had a McDonalds dinner in the car, followed by their completely wrapped attention for two-plus hours when we started the portable DVD player and Star Wars - Episode I (aka: the "Pod Racer Movie").
