Harry had his first T-Ball game of the season this morning. The Raptors played the Sand Gnats and Harry got four hits, although nearly every other kid did, too. By my count there were only two outs recorded in the entire game, one by each team. That's par for the course, in my experience with T-Ball last year and, heck, runs and outs aren't really what T-Ball is about. Every kid gets to bat and run the bases and Harry thinks hitting and running are a lot of fun. His patience for fielding still needs work, but he's starting to be able to throw pretty well. If you look carefully at the top of the picture below left, you can see the ball in the air, having been thrown by Harry from his position at 1st base toward home. The ball didn't get there on the fly (that would have been a hurl for a T-Ball player), but it got there on a roll.
I'm looking forward to this year with T-Ball for Harry. He's a year older and a little stronger and more agile. And Harry already knows several of the kids on his team. And we know many of the parents.
Somewhat bizarrely, the kids on both the Raptors and the Sand Gnats had uniforms - indee, charming uniforms - but no hats yet. Some kind of snag in the order, I guess. So, they're all wearing random hats for the first game. Harry is wearing his Giants hat from last year, although you can also see link hats, red hats, a white hat, a blue hat, a green hat, a gray hat, and no hat as the teams shake hands at the end of the game.
