It turns out that Jeremy was traumatized after all by going under the water. He made it through the rest of the last lesson, seemingly none the worse for wear, but today was a different story. He basically refused to go in the water. Maybe it was the two week's between lessons, but clearly the fear for his life is what his brain is remembering now. At today's lesson Jeremy basically sat on the stairs with only his legs in the water. I tried to go work with him to step down the steps, but even that was grueling. Cayly gave him a floatation barbell and swam with him into the middle, but Jeremy was crying the whole time. It was pretty much a disaster.
