Gathering kindling was a job we kids had when I was young as part of getting ready to leave the cabin. I now realize that part of that job was probably just giving us something to do so we didn't 1) get the house messy while my parents were tiddying up to leave, 2) get dirty ourselves, or 3) run off too far. It was probably all three. Plus, there always needs to be kindling for next time.
We seem to be getting into a little routine leaving Vermont. For the second time in a row we got up early (well, not as early as we always think) and have breakfast at Plain Jane's diner in Rumney, NH. Jeremy loves it. Quite humorously, he got all disappointed when we didn't have pancakes yesterday morning. He knew it was Sunday and that's usually his special day.
