May 12, 2001 - Saturday
This morning Harry woke up wired! It had to be a result of him sleeping so much yesterday, but he was ready to go from the start. He was active, he was loud, and he was being a boy running around, hitting, hammering, and bouncing. Toward the end of the morning, we thought he might be tiring when he almost fell asleep in the car on the way back from the store, but that was just a decoy. He was still wired and only napped for 40 minutes in the afternoon. To fan the flames even more, we had plans to visit Aunt Lisa and Uncle Ben's new house, so Harry had a whole new environment to discover, including Aunt Lisa's pet snake. Harry pronounced it "nike" and it was the only thing that got him to stand still for any serious amount of time. Giving him dinner was trouble because he wouldn't sit still and we hadn't brought his booster seat. Getting him to bed in the portable crib was trouble because he WASN'T tired! Yeah, right!
