April 15, 2003 - Tuesday
Today was the first really warm day of the year and I was headed for the playground
with the boys for the first time this spring. Harry had chosen the "church
tower playground" and Jeremy seemed to concur with a not-extremely confident,
"but I'm game" kind of nod of his
head. For a moment I hesitated at the thought of how the playground was
sure to be crowded on such a day, but no matter. One of the things about becoming
a parent is the immediate joining of this huge fraternity of people with (at
least on the surface) remarkably similar experiences. Sure enough, kids were
everywhere and there, too, right around one of the tall "church towers"
where two parent firends on mine experiencing the mutual release from being,
more or less, trapped inside with their children for about the last six months.
Smiles were all around.
