December 5, 2003 - Friday
Harry and Jeremy have been noticing the football games I've been watching
this fall. At first, Jeremy liked it. More
recently, he thought it wasn't so nice: "pushing, not nice." Harry
picked up on that and I tried to explain that they were just playing a game,
like pig piling only with very special rules on what kind of pushing was OK.
They seemed to except that. Then, this evening, Harry decided he kind of like
the idea of football.
"Daddy, let's play football," he said and came running toward me
on the floor. I tackled him. He found a piece of foam that quickly became
the ball. I tackled him some more. I was a pretty fun game, at least by four-year-old
and father standards.
