Over the last couple of days Jeremy has just started to be able to climb onto
the living room sofa by himself. He, like Harry, loves to play there with
the pillows and gets frustrated when he can't get up, although until Harry
who tended to whine when he couldn't do something, Jeremy just grunts looking
for help. This morning Jeremy made his first solo ascent of our
bed, a milestone I remember particularly well from when Harry
was younger. Jeremy's more than a full month ahead of Harry on this one,
but he's a lot bigger and taller than Harry was. Somehow I see this ability
to climb and overcome their environment as a major advancement. Or, maybe
it just makes them seem like boys.
