What a remarkable scene! I was working diligently inside all afternoon to
finish some work before leaving on a business trip this evening and the boys'
mother came in to tell me about this usual late afternoon occurrence. Harry
and Jeremy were lying down together on the swing. The thing is they weren't
doing anything (a rarity itself for little boys), and she didn't put them
there. They had just climbed up there and laid down to, apparently, rest.
They both did take a nap a little earlier, so one would have expected they'd
be rested and playing in the sand box, running around the yard, or building
a "sculpture" out of the plastic chairs on the back porch like typical
little boys. Instead, they were just hanging out. Adorably, they were hanging
out together. This is picture I could imagine being reenacting every five
years or so for the rest of their lives (or at least as long as we live in
this house and the swing is standing).
