In past years we've procrastinated putting up our Christmas tree until after
Harry's birthday, rationalizing that his special day shouldn't be mixed up
with Christmas more than it inevitably will in his life. And in past years
the boys weren't quite aware enough to make a serious argument about it. That's
changed. They've seen the Christmas lights going up around town and they are
ready for their own Christmas tree. This year there would simply be no waiting
another two weeks. Happily, their awareness also brings with it the youthful
joy of the holidays and the very reason to have a tree in the first place.
