Sure enough, when we gave grandpa Harry's picture of
the Vermont House, Harry talked about the turkey in there more than the
cabin. No matter. It was a nice story and I passed it on to grandpa.
We stopped at grandpa's house on the way to an Open Studios in the city. We'd
taken the boys to this before and they were pretty good and pretty well behaved.
It seems as long as we keep moving from one studio to another, and kept finding
an occasional snack, and maybe an interesting picture, they can stay interested.
At that's pretty much how it went this time. We were there for about an hour
and a half and they held together remarkably well looking at the different
kinds of art. One thing that probably helped was a studio that had a curious
set-up were kids could make sunglasses, complete with glitter, stick-ons,
glue, and other can't-miss art supplies.
