I actually tried to take Harry to the "drum
store" today to buy him a set of drumsticks, but he didn't want to
go. Jeremy was more interested in the drum store than Harry and we ended up
going to the church tower playground until it got dark. What's the change
in wanting to be a drummer? I suspect it's that
I've been turning up the pressure on Harry a little to find out whether he'd
really be serious about actually playing the drums or just wants to bang on
the cymbals. I've been trying to emphasize that drums are serious musical
instruments and aren't just for banging and that if he wanted to play the
drums we would probably want to start some drum lessons. I've told him that
I'd buy him some drums sticks and maybe a practice pad for him to learn on.
Clearly a pad for banging did not sound all that exciting.
