October 2, 2004 - Saturday
Mommy made a cake this afternoon to occupy the boys on a cloudy gray day.
At the end of dinner, as she was frosting the cake and I was getting the plates
out, the boys talked as they sat somewhat patiently at the table.
Jeremy said something like, "me have cake and 'arry have cake and not
you." It was a stange two-year-old kind of comment that probably had
some context that we didn't hear. MJaybe he was joking, maybe he thought there
wasn't enough, or maybe he was just commenting that typically he and Harry
have dessert at the table and we don't (we usually wait until after the boys
go to bed).
Harry immediately replied urgently, "I want my friend, daddy, to have
some cake."
What a charming boy.
