I need to help the boys work through the inherent fear of trying new things. I've said that before about food, but it also applies to trying to do new things. For example, what's the hang-up other than fear of the unknown about climbing around in a big hook and ladder fire truck? They had the chance to do today, as well as to climb in a rescue truck and ambulance at a local town fair. You'd think that they'd have jumped at the chance, but both Harry and Jeremy said at first that they did not want to do it. Admittedly, going in an ambulance feels a little eerie, but the fire truck? Jeremy? Naturally, fear of the unknown is a pretty normal human reflex, but it's something that needs to be balanced. I told them both I would go in with them, they did, and, of course, they loved all three vehicles.
