August 28, 2005 - Sunday
I know this isn't really a profound observation, but five-year-olds can sure be loud. That's not to say specifically that they have loud voices or scream loudly, although both of those things are true as well. But what I mean is that with Harry there is often this din of noise coming from wherever he is in the house that seems to have no other purpose than for either him to hear himself make noise or to make sure his parents are hearing him make noise, and probably it's both. Most often these days it includes Harry's rendition of Darth Vader's theme from the Star War's movies sung, not at a quiet hum-a-tune-while-you-play volume but rather, as loud as he can sing it. That less-than-refreshing (particularly after a couple of months of it) tune is far from the only noise. There are also the spitting-shooting noises, random vehicle noises, and random crashing noises often featuring objects likes Bionicles, cars, or, well, whatever's around. I'd say it's a boy thing, and there's probably something to that. but we've lucked out with Jeremy so far in this regard.
