The boys started another 7-week swimming session this morning, but this time they are not together. Harry did well enough last session to move up to the Eel level. Jeremy will get more practice as a Pike. That could have been difficult for Jeremy, indeed he did complain about it a few times, but this time we had an easy answer. Their mutual friend from school, Connor, started swimming lessons today, too, and since he's never swam before he's starting out as a Pike. So, he and Jeremy are now in the same class. Of course, that seemed to make Harry a little jealous at first, but he seemed to get over it quickly when I explained to him that he was more advanced. The real problem will be when Connor, who's a couple months older than Harry, moves up to the next level as he almost certainly will. At three, Jeremy is just at a physical disadvantage. He continues to have a great time swimming, and he's wonderfully comfortable in the water, but his progress is simply going to be slower than that of a five-year-old. He's also too young to understand why Harry can do things and he cannot.
