Jeremy's teachers have been telling me that Jeremy has been going around singing a tune that they didn't know and after a bit of back and forth we figured out that it must be the Promenade for Pictures at an Exhibition. He's been doing the same thing around our house. Neither of the teachers was familiar with it so I told them about the different pictures and how Harry and Jeremy had really taken to it. They asked if I might bring it in for the class to listen to and I did, although I don't know that it will work out in a preschool class. The thing that has gotten the boys interest in thinking about what the picture is and what might be happening with, for example, the Gnome in the first portrait. I have trouble imagine a bunch of preschoolers actually sitting long enough to make that first imaginative leap from the music they're hearing to seeing a picture. It's not that they couldn't do it, after all Jeremy did, it's just that in a pack kids well be kids.
