I can't believe that Harry has been alive for more than six years and I've never noticed that he shares one of my most unique physical traits: a single knuckle crease on the inside of the pinky finger. We both have two knuckles in there, but just one crease. I've been alive for 43 years and never met another person that had this feature. I have it on just my left pinky. Harry has it on both of his.

I'd like to think that not noticing this until now just goes to show that I'm far from obsessed about my children being like me. That certainly is true, but all the same I have to concede that when Harry was born I did consciously look at his palms to see if he had another of my physical oddities: a single line going across the palm. He does not.

This picture (left) is of the straight line going across my left palm. My right palm is similar, although the line breaks in the middle into something of a "Y" shape. Harry's hands both have the more conventional set of two lines.
