November 19, 2006 - Sunday
Today Harry and I started something that was probably inevitable since the day he was born and we started calling him "Harry." We started reading "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone." Even though that book was published a couple of years before Harry's birth, and even though the book's popularity was burgeoning at the time, it had absolutely nothing to do with Harry's name. If anything, the possibility of a renewed popular bent toward the name "Harry" would have dissuaded us a little. But Harry Potter wasn't really on our radar at the time. Still, how could a boy named Harry grow up not knowing anything about the most well-known child "Harry" of his generation? So, we started reading. We read one chapter tonight and it's too early to tell how Harry likes it.
