I may be wrong about this, but I think today was the first time I've called home from a business trip and neither one of the boys wanted to talk to me. It's not really a big deal: I only left this morning before they got up, so it's not like they haven't seen me in a while. Nor can I say that I'm particularly offended or disappointed by it. It'll happen with kids and I don't see much reason in forcing the issue. It's part of them growing up. There have certainly been times on previous trips of late when they've been watching something on TV, or playing some kind of imaginative game, but my recollection is that their mother has always eventually convinced at least one of them to say hello. Today Harry was in the middle of playing the Star Wars game (he's rediscovered that again during the last couple of weeks) and couldn't be interrupted and Jeremy was crabby about something.
