Long car trips can be tough on radio shows. Other stations encroach and static
starts to distract from the usual reception. Sometimes you can listen through
the static for a while, but it gets frustrating. If the program is a familiar
National Public Radio show or a ball game, maybe you can move the dial and
hear the familiar sounds and voices on another station away from the static.
Sometimes you lose it for a while, but find it again on another station farther
down the road, hopefully you haven't missed too much. Sometimes you just put
in a tape.
