Harry wanted to get a video today while we were at the library. He wanted
Monster, Inc., which he had apparently seen part of at school, but they didn't
have it in. So, he picked a little educational documentary on Spiders. At
first, I actually thought about discouraging it, thinking it would not be
what he expected. But, of course I realized what a stupid idea that was. If
the kid wants to watch something educational, it'd be a crime to lead him
instead to inane entertainment. And, sure enough, when we put it on this evening,
he was fascinated. Better still, there was a noticeable difference in his
attentiveness to this informative subject than there usually is toward other
videos and movies that we've gotten for him. How long will that last?
