What the heck am I doing planning these activity parties for these kids? Yesterday and today I spend several hours building a sand and plaster pit in the basement and burying a model dinosaur skeleton for the boys to find at the party tomorrow. Last year I spent similar hours and anxiety planning Harry's Star Wars party. This morning I ask him and Jeremy what parties that they'd been to did they like best. Harry said Ethan's party at the place with all the air-inflated jumping slides. Jeremy said Connor's party at "Funworld." So why am am doing this. I'm certianly not saving any money this way. I'm trying to make them interesting for the boys. But if they'd rather be at a place where I just have to pony up the cash and show up, isn't that the way to go? Can't I teach these kids anything about using their imaginations?
