May 27, 2000 - Saturday
A few days ago
while Harry was visiting the lab, I took him outside for a temporary diversion.
It was a gorgeous day - sunny and in the 70s with a mild, yet gusty wind -
and Harry absolutely loved it. It's impossible to know what about it he loved,
though he seemed to be constantly looking up at a large maple tree with leaves
swooshing in the breeze. The wind was also blowing through his hair, which
can be its own distraction, so I was thinking that Harry might have been enthralled
by the outdoors, which would be just fine with me.
Today, however, while spending the morning and afternoon out at Harry's grandparent's
house, we took him for a long walk through the nearby woods with the dogs.
He seemed much less interested and slept most of entire walk. Who's to know.
I guess it just doesn't make sense to read too much into a baby's excitement.
