It's taken a long time, a long time relative to Harry anyway, but Jeremy is
finally demanding books. It's been about a month since he was obsessive about
only Byron Barton's "Men At Work," Harry's original favorite, and
"Planes," but now there are at least a half dozen board books that
Jeremy will pick up, hold up in his outstretched hand, and grunt, then come
over and plop himself down in his mother's or my lap. He's not always that
patient a reader, but these are the first steps and at least he's come around
to liking books. For a while it seemed like he didn't, although we admittedly
force fed Harry books during those long daily commutes into the city and he
had little choice. Jeremy has fewer chances with books until now.
