This Linus look is not all that uncommon for Jeremy lately. These burp cloths,
made by his Aunt Jane with some more from his baby-sitter Mary, have become
something like security blankets for him and are a frequent companion to the
thumb in times of fatigue or anxiety, especially when the two come together.
He'll wring the clothe a little, then move his right thumb to his mouth while
still clenching the "nunny" in his left hand. I think that word
is right. It comes from Mary, who mentioned his apparent comfort with these
cloths a couple of times before his mother and I consciously started putting
one in his crib at night. Mary was right.
