April 19, 2004 - Monday
Jeremy is just so much fun to talk with on the phone these days. He's so earnest,
if not terribly well spoken, and it's easy to hear the excitement of a little
boy moving faster than his search for appropriate words. I spoke with Harry
first when I called home this afternoon and that's probably a good thing.
Harry, being quite articulate, handily explained the log-loader truck they
had seen on the highway, as well as the huge tree cutter machine they had
seen later at the local construction site. Jeremy, when he got on the phone,
was clearly excited about something and, thanks to Harry's explanation, I
made out words like "log loader" and "cut trees." Jeremy,
lacking the vocabulary to carry the conservation, enthusiastically answered
my questions with his typically emphatic, "yes."
