March 28, 2004 - Sunday
Harry's been clingy lately. I was told that by his teacher twice last week
and then again by his grandmother today. She took him to play at her church's
Sunday school while his mother and I had a brunch date with some friends.
On the one hand, kids go through that at times and, while it's not very common,
it certainly not out of character for Harry. However, it does seem like Harry
been rather pensive the last two weeks or so.
Is it because I was gone for a week at the beginning of the month? Is it because
other kids at school have been talking about, and thus Harry's been asking
about, death? Is it because he's not happy at school?
Is it because for a similar period of time Jeremy has been particularly full
of 'terrible two" vim and vigor and been getting
a lot of parental focus because of it?
Of course, I don't really know. And, maybe it wouldn't matter, except we're
going to be moving Harry to a new school next year (Jeremy will be starting
at the same place) and, because of Harry's current school situation, we're
wondering if we should pull him out of there sooner. Is that over-reacting?
over-parenting?
