For the second week in a row, Jeremy has come home from Mary's with a holiday wreath that he has decorated. Last week it was this handsome pinecone wreath and Mary says that Jeremy designed the whole thing. He would point to where he wanted each pinecone to go, she says, and she would help with the glue. Interestingly, Jeremy brought it home in a big box that was meant to be a surprise present. Mary said we should wait a day for "all the glue to dry" and I figured it was probably some random assortment of sticks that Jeremy had glued together. We actually didn't open it for a couple of days, but when we did I was really quite surprised and impressed and I'm fairly sure that Jeremy picked up on my reaction right away. He was very proud and rightly so.
Of course, that success likely inspired him to do this pine wreath this week with Mary. Mary says that she built the pine wreath structure, but that it was Jeremy again who decided were each of the pinecones, rose hips, acorns, and berries should go. She says he's very meticulous about pointing out exactly where each one should go.
I really do love that he seems to have a creative mind, even if it begets an artistic temperament that might be the root of his stubbornness, manipulative skills, and less agreeable moments.
