January 25, 2006 - Wednesday
I think the boys, especially Harry, must have enjoyed yesterday's
reading as much as I did. We came straight home today and just a short
while, Harry went over to the living room bookcase that he hasn't touched
in months and pulled out "Frederick" by Leo Lionni
and asked me to read it. There's nothing particularly memorable about Frederick
that I can recall; it's nothing that Harry ever specifically enjoyed, but
that's what he found and so it's what he asked for. We sat on the beanbags
and read Frederick, then "Crocodile Crocodile: Stories from Around
the World" until mommy got home. We read books every night at bedtime,
but when was the last time I sat down with the boys during the afternoon and
read a story? Well, before yesterday that is. I
think by Harry's reaction we should probably do it more.
