October 29, 2004 - Friday
For about two weeks now Jeremy has been grumbling daily about "somewhere
fun" or doing "something fun." I have no idea where this comes
from; that is, I certainly understand that in the afternoons he prefers playgrounds
to the grocery store, but I'm not sure if this is a phrase that he picked
up from somewhere else or made up on his own. The point is that it certainly
is his current line, a refrain offered in the my-life-is-so-hard manner one
might expect from a much older adolescent. Of course, they'd have nothing
on Jeremy when it comes to delivery and parental contempt.
Incidentally, today he, Harry, and I did not really do anything "fun."
We went to a store to buy supplies for Harry's Halloween costume. As stores
go, Michaels is a fun one for the boys, but it didn't meet Jeremy's standards
in that regard.
